Overview
PT Indo Kordsa Tbk (BRAM) was established in 1981, as a manufacturer of tire cord fabric from nylon, polyester, and rayon fibres. Its first factory was built in 1985 in Bogor, West Java, and started its commercial operations in April 1987. It went IPO in September 1990, then established a joint venture company named Thai Branta Mulia Co Ltd in October. In 1993, it opened tyre cord factory in Ayutthaya, Thailand. The company established PT Branta Mulia Teijin in 1996, in cooperation with Teijin Limited Japan, producing polyester tyre cord. From 1997 to 2006, the company was also in alliance with DuPont Chemical and Energy Operation Inc. Kordsa Global of the United States, a part of Turki Sabanci Holding Group, became the major stockholder of BRAM since 2006. In 2018, the company change its name to PT Indo Kordsa Tbk.
