JAKARTA. Carsome, a car e-commerce platform targeting the Southeast Asian market, predicts that the car buying and selling trend in Indonesia will reach its peak in April 2021.
Delly Nugraha, General Manager of Carsome Indonesia, said that the trend will be supported by the zero percent PPnBM (Sales Tax on Luxury Goods) incentives provided by the government. The regulations announced starting March 2021, said Nugraha, would be the right time for prospective buyers of new passenger cars with engine capacities below 1,500 cc.
For the record, this incentive is designed to stimulate public consumption. In addition, this incentive is also believed to be able to restore the national automotive industry which was hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.
"When people switch to new cars, there will be an increase in supply for used cars," Nugraha told idnfinancials.com today.
Nugraha added that Carsome will continue to strengthen its services. Thus, users can sell their old car easily and safely.
On the same occasion, Carsome also released its latest research which shows the increasing interest of Indonesian people in selling used cars online. This increase even reached 34% compared to before the existence of the PSBB (Large-Scale Social Restrictions) policy. (KR/LM)
