Non alcoholic sales of Multi Bintang decreases

JAKARTA - PT Multi Bintang Indonesia Tbk (MLBI) through PT Tirta Prima Indonesia experienced a decline, based on sales data of non-alcoholic drinks in the first half of 2017 which fell 11.38% to Rp 175.29 billion from Rp 197.81 billion in the same period in the previous year.

Non-alcoholic drinks from Tirta Prima contributed 11.6% of MLBI's total net sales of Rp 1.509 trillion in the first half of 2017. Compared to the first half of 2016, non-alcohol sales contributed 12.82% of the total net sales of Rp 1.537 trillion.

Director of Corporate Relations PT Multi Bintang Indonesia Tbk Bambang Britono to Kontan.co.id (12/10) said non-alcohol contribution increased from the first quarter 2017 of 9.8% to second quarter 2017 of 14.3%. Total sales in the second quarter was Rp 610.44 billion. Thus sales of non-alcoholic beverages decreased by 1.21% compared to the previous quarter. Sales of alcoholic drinks in the second quarter of 2017 also decreased 35.45 percent to Rp 523.33 billion from Rp 810.77 billion compared to the previous quarter.

Tirta Prima is a joint venture of Multi Bintang Indonesia with Heineken Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. Some of the non alcoholic products produced by Tirta Prima include GreenSands, Star Zero, Fayrouz, Star Radler 0.0%, and Star Maxx 0.0%, and the biggest sales are still dominated by big cities in Java and Bali.
