Alfaria keeps expanding its business with 250 new stores in Q1 2021
JAKARTA. PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk (AMRT) to continue its expansion and to establish new stores this year. As of December 2020, the said retail company owns 17,538 stores and franchises in total, multiplying from 1,405 stores in 2019.
The Director of Sumber Alfaria Trijaya, Tomin Widian, claimed that this recent store addition resulted from the expansion of Alfamart Group sustained throughout last year.
AMRT now proceeds with the business expansion and plans to open new stores, approximately 650 to 850 units. AMRT also allocated IDR 2.5 to 3 trillion capital expenditure (CapEx) from its internal cash.
From the said amount of CapEx, there has been IDR 700 billion spent in over 250 new stores establishment by the end of Q1 2021. “The CapEx is utilised in opening new stores and extending the leases of stores that are nearing its end period,” Widian continued.
AMRT would also launch Alfa X and the coffee corner, Bean Spot. As mentioned by its president director, Anggara Hans Prawira, the concept of Alfa X is to be a modern minimarket featuring learning and co-working space, specifically targeting the younger generation. (AM/ZH)
