SUBANG - Patimban Port, Subang, West Java targets to serve around 160,000 vehicles this year. This was revealed by the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, while monitoring export activities at the Patimban Port, West Java on Saturday (5/3).

"Currently, the car terminal has been active for 3 months and is targeted to reach 160,000 vehicles this year. The total capacity of this terminal can reach 218,000 vehicles per year, both international and domestic/inter-island," said the Minister of Transportation.

The Minister of Transportation wants Patimban Port to collaborate with Tanjung Priok Port to support logistics activities in Indonesia. "Later there will be twin ports that will become Hubs. The Tanjung Priok Port serves the western region to Bekasi and the Patimban Port serves from Bekasi to the eastern region of Java," he explained.

Patimban Port will continue to be developed so that it can accommodate as much as 7.5 million TEUs/year for containers and 600,000 CBU for vehicles. Patimban Port together with Kertajati Airport, Bekasi Region, Karawang, Purwakarta also support the triangle of economic growth areas that will be interconnected, mutually supporting one another, so that they have competitiveness, especially for export products, especially in the automotive sector.
