BNI to distribute 24,682,600 shares as long-term incentives
JAKARTA – PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) or BNI has reassigned 24,682,600 shares of its treasury stock from the previous buyback to the management of the company. Mucharom, Corporate Secretary of BNI, announced the action in the information disclosure quoted Wednesday (22/6).
“The Annual General Shareholders Meeting held on March 15, 2022, agreed upon the plan of transferring the entire repurchased shares as the stock ownership program designed for directors and commissioners of the company,” Mucharom explained.
According to Mucharom, said treasury shares had been distributed to the management of BNI on June 20, 2022, in the form of long incentives. Said shares distribution is expected to steadily boost the ownership motivation and the risk awareness of the management.
Until May 2022, said treasury stock is approximately 0.135 of BNI’s issued shares of 18,648,656,458 units. The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) secures 60% of them, leaving the public with the remaining 39.87%. (LK/ZH)
