JAKARTA. LinkAja will reportedly secure series of capital investment from its shareholder, PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk (TLKM), after welcoming the latest business entity in its ecosystem, PT Fintek Karya Nusantara.

Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, Vice Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) II, claimed that this capital investment will promote business expansion of LinkAja in the future. He further mentioned that LinkAja will be developed as a lending platform within the ecosystem of Telkom and PT Pertamina (Persero).

Furthermore, Wirjoatmodjo said that the Ministry of BUMN will allow investment in LinkAja, as long as this e-wallet platform of TLKM remains focus in transforming businesses in the financing sector.

“Now, we are currently pushing for several committed investors. The investment will be disbursed around March or April,” Wirjoatmodjo stated.

On the other hand, Hans Kwee, Director of Equator Swarna Capital, claimed that platforms like LinkAja will shift into a Buy-Now Pay-Later (BNPL) platforms. “It surely is a good opportunity for Telkom as LinkAja is an amalgamation of many players,” he explained, as quoted by Investor Daily.

Based on IDNFinancials data, LinkAja recorded 87 million registeres users until October 2022. The revenue of this platform even saw growth of approximately 10% to 15%. (KR/ZH)
