JAKARTA - PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk (SMBR) is acquiring a new coal mine to supply the coal demand its cement plants. However, the management was not explained for detailed information about the location of its acquired coalfield.
Rahmad Pribadi, President Director of PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk (SMBR) the company is expecting the coal mine that will be acquired to supply the coal demand of the company. “We are seeking a coal mine with an optimal price and suitable grade. We are analysing,” he said in Jakarta.
According to him, with the acquisition, the coal mine will contribute about 50% of the coal demand. If the rupiah (IDR) weakens against the dollar (US$) upon coal export then the gain will hike. However, Semen Baturaja is not oriented to the export. Export volume is only targeted at 70,000 tonnes of cement. (LK)
