ALJIR - Indonesia and Algeria agreed to intensify cooperation in the economic sector, especially trade and industry, as well as investment since the economic growth and cooperation between these two had been small.
This was conveyed by the Indonesian Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita after holding a bilateral meeting with Algerian Minister of Industry and Mining Youcef Yousfi in Algiers, Thursday (11/22).
"There are several priority sectors delivered by Algeria, namely the food processing and textile industries. I say that Indonesia has the capacity and asks the Algerian government to facilitate Indonesian investment in Algeria,” said Trade Minister Enggar.
Trade Minister said that he and the chairman of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry agreed to encourage the trade promotion of both parties. The Trade Minister invited Algerian business actors along with the Trade Minister of Algeria to attend business forums, exhibitions, and visit Indonesia's flagship industries at the Indonesia Trade Expo.
On the Africa continent, Algeria ranks 6th as Indonesia's export destination country and 4th place as an importing country in 2017. For Indonesia's trade with the world, Algeria ranks 46th as Indonesia's export destination country and 41st as import country of origin. (LM)
