BATANG. The income of restaurants in Batang declines by 33%-40%, after the operation of Trans Jawa toll road.
Arif Munandar, an owner of a restaurant in Batang, said that the traffic in the North Coast (Pantura) line became relatively low since the Trans Jawa Toll Road starts its operation. "Previously, we could get turnover of Rp. 2.25 million to Rp. 2.5 million per day, but now it is only Rp. 1.5 million per day," Munandar said as quoted by Bisnis on Friday (11/1).
Responding to this, Bambang Supriyanto, Head of the Regional Financial, Revenue and Asset Management Agency (BPKPAD) of Batang said the tax receipt from restaurants would also decrease. "With the opening of the Trans Jawa Toll Road, it will directly affect the absorption of taxes from the restaurant sector," Supriyanto explained. (KR/AR)
