JAKARTA. PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (AALI) has just completed the construction of a new plant in South Kalimantan at the end of 2018. The factory has a production capacity of 45 tons per hour.
With this additional capacity, AALI's total production capacity will reach 1,555 tons per hour. At present, the plant's utilization has reached 80% -85%.
With the completion of the construction of a factory which cost Rp 250 billion, AALI allocated a capital expenditure of only Rp 1.5 trillion, slightly down from the previous year of Rp 1.7 trillion.
This was stated by President Director of AALI, Santosa, that the number of CapEx this year was smaller than 2018 because AALI had completed the construction of a new plant in South Kalimantan by the end of 2018.
Santosa further said that 40% of this year's capital expenditure budget would be used to treat immature palm trees. In addition, CapEx will also be used to increase the capacity of its plants in Kalimantan. "We will increase the capacity of weighbridge and loading ramp", said Santosa, last week.
In addition, the CapEx will also be used for maintenance of roads, bridges, employee homes, polyclinics, and school buildings around the company's plantation area.
At present, the company manages 285,024 hectares of oil palm plantations spread across Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi (AM/AR)
