JAKARTA. PT Bank BCA Syariah received an injection of capital from its parent company, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA), to maintain its Capital Aquadecy Ratio (CAR) above 20%.
John Kosasih, President Director of BCA Syariah, acknowledged that BCA Syariah's CAR had shrunk from 29.39% in 2017 to 24.27% in 2018. If BCA Syariah did not receive a capital injection from BBCA, it is estimated that its CAR this year will be at the level of 17%.
"With the expansion plan in the future, we need additional capital. This amount has not yet been decided, "Kosasih said, as quoted by Bisnis, on Thursday (28/2).
Depreciation of BCA Syariah CAR is also caused by the slow credit growth this year. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) stated that the National Finance to Deposit Ratio (FDR), last year was at the level of 94.78% or up by 5.68% compared to 2017. (KR/AR)
