JAKARTA. PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) is preparing an investment fund of Rp 6.7 trillion to improve coal production and sales performance this year.
Suherman, Secretary of PTBA, said that the company has set a growth target of coal production of 3% to 27.26 million tons by the end of this year. In 2018, PTBA recorded the realization of coal production of 26.36 million tons.
Meanwhile, PTBA targets coal sales volume this year to reach 28.38 million tons, up by 15% from 2018. The sales projection for this year is 13.67 million tons from domestic market, and 14.71 million tons for export. "The increase in sales target is supported by export sales plans for medium to high calorie coal to a premium market of 2 million tons," Suherman explained on Monday (11/3) today through official statement.
PTBA has collaborated with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) to transport coal. This collaboration is still ongoing and will be developed this year, through the development of a railroad coal transportation project in Tanjung Enim to Kertapati. (KR/AR)
