JAKARTA. PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) will continue a number of coal development projects, ranging from power plants to coal gasification.
Suherman, Corporate Secretary of PTBA, said that some of the five projects have been worked on since 2018. One of them is the coal gasification project to Dimethyl Ether (DME) in the Pranap Mine, and coal to UREA and Polypropelene in Tanjung Enim. "At present, the coal downstream project is entering the bankable feasibility study and land acquisition phase," Suherman explained on Monday (11/3) through an official statement.
PTBA also scheduled the construction of a Steam Power Plant (PLTU) at the mouth of the South Sumatra (Sumsel) 8 mine, with a capacity of 2x620 megawatts (MW). The next project is the Fenii PLTU in East Halmahera, with a capacity of 3x60 MW.
To support production and sales performance, PTBA collaborates with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) to work on coal transportation facilities. This facility will be built in the Tanjung Enim area, with a capacity of 60 million tons per year. (KR/AR)
