JAKARTA - In the past few years PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) has continued its efforts to increase transactions through credit cards. The leisure segment is expected to be a pillar of growth.
BRI's Credit Card Division Executive Vice President Wibawa Prasetyawan said that during 2018 alone, the usage of BRI credit cards in the leisure segment could grow 124% (yoy).
"This is quite large because the coverage is widespread, not only travel, hotels, but until the movie enters leisure as well," he said in Jakarta, Tuesday (3/13).
Even in composition, this segment called Wibawa dominates BRI credit card transactions by 30%. While the rest comes from shopping for daily needs for fuel purchases of 25%, and clothing expenditure by 15%.
While throughout 2018, credit card transactions at BRI reached Rp 8 trillion. Whereas this year the value is targeted to grow 50 percent to Rp 12 trillion.
"As for the leisure segment, we are targeting to grow up to 90%," he continued. (AM/LM)
