JAKARTA. PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) managed to produce 5.7 million tonnes of coal in the first quarter of this year (Q1) or 19.92% of its production target in 2019 (27.26 million tonnes).
Arviyan Arifin, President Director of PTBA, said that the realization was also 8% higher compared to the record from the same quarter the previous year. "It is still in line with the work plan in 2019," Arifin said on Thursday (25/4) to idnfinancials.com.
Even so, Arifin said that the company remained optimistic about meeting the production target this year. To achieve this target, PTBA will optimize production performance and conduct efficiency for all operational activities in Q2 to Q4 this year.
In addition, PTBA must also produce a minimum of 7.18 million tonnes of coal each quarter to meet its 2019 production target. "There are still 3 more quarters for us to work harder," Arifin said. (KR/AR)
