JAKARTA. PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) will rely on export this year to boost its coal sales this year to 28.38 million tonnes, or 15% more than last year's sales realization.
Arviyan Arifin, President Director of PTBA, said that the company has a good opportunity to make large coal export this year. "The 2019 export target is indeed increased, and there are also some new destination countries," Arifin explained on Thursday (25/4) today when met by idnfinancials.com.
A number of new countries that will become PTBA's export targets this year are the Philippines, South Korea, Hong Kong and Vietnam. "We are starting to enter the Japanese market too," Arifin explained.
Meanwhile, Suherman, Corporate Secretary of PTBA, explained that the portion of coal sales this year was 13.67 million tonnes for the domestic market and 14.71 million tonnes for the export market. "The increase in sales target is supported by the export sales plan for 3.8 million tonnes of medium to high-calorie coal to the premium market," Suherman explained. (KR/AR)
