JAKARTA. PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) has the opportunity to become a coal provider for power plants belonging to members of the Mining State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Holding this year.
Arviyan Arifin, President Director of PTBA, said that the company has opened opportunities for cooperation with members of the Mining BUMN Holding. For example, PT Timah Tbk (TINS), PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM), PT Inalum (Persero), and PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) whose 51% of its shares are owned by the Indonesian government.
PTBA itself has received approval from its shareholders to provide coal for Aneka Tambang's Steam Power Plant (PLTU) it Halmahera. "We have explained at the GMS that there will be a synergy with Antam to build a PLTU it Halmahera, to support its [Antam] smelter," Arifin explained on Thursday (24/4) when he was met by idnfinancials.com.
PTBA is optimistic that the synergy between members of the Mining BUMN Holding will support its sales performance this year. Suherman, Corporate Secretary of PTBA, said that PTBA's domestic coal sales target for this year is 13.67 million tonnes. (KR/AR)
