17 December 2018 12:13
JAKARTA - PT Pan Brothers Tbk (PBRX) welcomes the signing of the Indonesia-European Free Trade Association (EFTA) Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).

The agreement is considered to open opportunities for PBRX to export products to EFTA member countries, especially with the elimination of costs of 98%-99% for textile products.

PBRX Deputy President Director Anne Patricia Sutanto said the company's first step is to show EFTA member countries that PBRX is a cooperative partner.

"There is an opening in the sense that it is not only about the entry fee, but also in the sense that Indonesian business shows that it can be sustainable. This is because we have added value that the world and the world recognises us as such," Ms Sutanto told Kontan.co.id, Sunday (16/12)

Indonesian products that get preference rates in the agreement are textile products, gold, fish, footwear, coffee, toys, furniture, electrical equipment, machinery, bicycles, tires, and palm oil. (MS)
