Nippon Indosari gained Rp 2.75 trillion in net sales in 2018

JAKARTA - Although its net sales in 2018 was higher than in 2017, PT Nippon Indosari Corpindo Tbk (ROTI)'s operating profit actually decreased. The decline was due to the increase in the cost of goods sold and operating expenses.

Based on the company's financial statements in 2018, the company gained Rp 127.17 trillion in profit, way more than its profit in 2017 (Rp 2.49 trillion). The company's net sales was recorded at Rp 2.75 trillion in 2018, higher than Rp 2.49 trillion gained in 2017. The cost of goods sold was recorded at Rp 1.27 trillion in 2018, higher than Rp 1.18 trillion recorded in 2017.  The company's gross profit in 2018 was recorded at Rp 1.49 trillion, grew from Rp 1.30 trillion recorded in 2017.

The company's operating profit declined from Rp 257.16 billion to Rp 194.41 billion. The decline in operating profit was mainly due to the increase in operating expenses from Rp 1.10 trillion to Rp 1.35 trillion. The company's other operating expenses increased from Rp 1.45 billion to Rp 2.06 billion.

The largest contributor to the sales was the white bread (Rp 2.09 trillion), followed by sweet bread (Rp 1.13 trillion), cake (Rp 120.27 billion), others (Rp 7.35 billion), and sales return (Rp 589.61 billion). Based on the sales area, Central Area contributed Rp 1.69 trillion, followed by East Area (Rp 668.33 billion), West Area (Rp 300.52 billion), and the Philippines (Rp 100.31 billion). (LK)
