JAKARTA. PT Airasia Indonesia Tbk (CMPP) plans to conduct a rights issue in the third quarter of this year to increase its business expansion capital.
Dendy Kurniawan, President Director of CMPP, said that the company had not confirmed how many shares would be released in the rights issue. He claimed that his party was calculating the potential of some of its business lines before officially announcing the rights issue.
"We are also still selecting potential underwriters," Kurniawan explained as quoted by Kontan, Tuesday (19/3).
CMPP will use right issue funds this year to purchase five new aircraft units. The new aircraft unit will help the company to operate its new flight routes. "Three units will come in the first semester and the remainder will come in the second semester," explained Kurniawan.
During 2018, CMPP purchased 9 new Airbus A320 aircraft. The units were purchased using the operating lease scheme. (KR/AR)
