JAKARTA. The telecommunications company PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk (FREN) plans to install telecommunications networks on the Lebak Bulus- Bunderan HI route of Moda Raya Terpadu (MRT).
At present, the subsidiary of the Sinarmas Group is in talks and final negotiations with PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk (TBIG) as the telecommunications network provider for MRT Jakarta.
"At present, we are matching prices. Hopefully, soon there will be an agreement and everything run smoothly," said Djoko Tata Ibrahim, Deputy CEO of Commercial of Smartfren.
Smartfren is indeed interested in installing a network on the newly opened MRT route. Djoko said that Smartfren wanted services to always available for customers wherever they are.
President Director of Smartfren, Merza Fachys, hopes that negotiations with Tower Bersama will be completed soon. He also hoped that the negotiation of technical and commercial aspects could be completed simultaneously. That way, business processes can run immediately. "We want the negotiations to be finalized soon," he said.
Tower Bersama is a company appointed by PT MRT Jakarta as a strategic partner for cellular connectivity and wireless internet networks. (AM/AR)
