Jasa Marga suggests lower dividend ratio compared to 2017

27 March 2019 06:50

JAKARTA. PT Jasa Marga Tbk (JSMR) is suggesting that the 2018 dividend ratio be lower than in 2017, which was 20% of the company's net profit. This is because of the company's need for investment funds which is considered in the plan to increase retained earnings.

JSMR Finance Director Donny Arsel said the expectation was due to the company's need for investment funds. On the other hand, the investment is expected to produce better yield and be more efficient compared to debt refinancing.

"We need investment funds. We are currently discussing with shareholders. Any acceptable amount will be distributed," said Mr Arsel, Tuesday (26/3).

According to Mr Arsel, a dividend payout ratio below 20% would be better. However, he added that all decisions are in the hands of shareholders.

In 2018, JSMR recorded a net profit of Rp 2.20 trillion. (AM/MS)
