JAKARTA - Telecommunications and Information Accessibility Agency (BAKTI) and PT Indosat Tbk (ISAT), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the utilization of Palapa Ring Services.
This Memorandum of Understanding aims to realize work effectiveness, integrated work patterns, directed and sustainable in the process of optimizing the utilization of Palapa Ring services.
The existence of this MoU is the first step in the utilization of Palapa Ring services by synergizing to utilize the potential, expertise and facilities owned by each party. This is done in order to realize the development of telecommunications network infrastructure that reaches all regions of Indonesia.
"So, we open the widest opportunity for telecom service providers to be able to take advantage of this opportunity and make it a future business prospect," said Director of BAKTI Kominfo Anang Latif.
The involvement of PT Indosat, Tbk as a collaborative partner is based on the experience of PT Indosat, Tbk in managing the backbone network, and business to encourage the development and growth of the internet industry in Indonesia.
Palapa Ring is the first step taken by BAKTI to realize fast and inexpensive connectivity. With the Palapa Ring, all districts and cities in Indonesia are connected to fiber optic networks. The network, complements the optical fiber network that has been built by the telecommunications industry. (LM)
