Solusi Bangun Indonesia manages to cut its losses by 63%

JAKARTA. PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk (SMCB) managed to gain Rp 2.35 trillion in revenue in Q1 2019, slightly higher (2.8%) compared to its revenue in the same period in 2018. With this revenue, SMCB managed to reduce its loss by 63% to Rp 123 billion, while in the same period last year, the company suffered a loss of Rp. 332 billion.

Corporate Communications Manager at SMCB, Diah Sasanawati said that in anticipation of its performance in the second quarter of this year, SMCB projects that cement market will still be low due to unstable weather, slowing development due to Ramadan and the upcoming Idul Fitri, as well as the results of general elections.

"For that, SMCB will continue to synergize with Semen Indonesia Group to continue to strive for positive results, through asset optimization, distribution networks, and continuing efficiency programs," he said in a press release on Wednesday (1/5).

He continued, since joining Semen Indonesia Group, SMCB has transformed to achieve synergy and improve company performance.

Through expansion of market reach and efficiency programs carried out internally, SMCB was able to generate profit before interest and positive income tax of Rp 120 billion, compared to losses experienced in the first quarter of 2018. (AM/AR)
