Kimia Farma prepares capex for acquisition

JAKARTA - PT Kimia Farma Tbk (KAEF) prepared an allocation of capital expenditure of Rp 4.2 trillion which will be used for expansion through downstream business linking. The company will take 70% of the funding from bank loans and MTN, and the rest from internal companies.

I.G.N. Suharta Wijaya, Finance Director of PT Kimia Farma Tbk explained the business development of both organic and inorganic. Therefore, the company plans to strengthen its upstream to downstream business. The one that is prioritized currently is strengthening in the downstream business.

"One of them that we don't have and we’re tring to have is the hospital business. Ownership options through acquisitions," Suharta said last weekend. Currently, KAEF is still in the process of targeting three to four hospitals. Even though they don't want to mention the company in question, KAEF prioritizes state-owned hospitals.

Quoting KONTAN, the hospitals that are the target of Kimia Farma are C and D segments in Jakarta, West Java and East Java. The reason for the company is to target users of health insurance facilities held by the Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial (BPJS). "What is clear is that we want to be the controlling shareholder in the company. The minimum share owned is 51%," he said. (AM/LM)
