JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned three people as witnesses in the alleged bribery case of the Riau-1 Steam Power Plant (PLTU). The three people are House of Representatives’ Commission VII member Nawafie Saleh, PT Pembangkitan Jawa Bali Investasi (PJBI) Finance Director Amir Faisal, and PT One Connect Indonesia Director Herwin Tanuwidjaya.

“The witnesses will be examined for suspect SFB (non-active PT PLN CEO Sofyan Basir),” said KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah as quoted by Kompas.com, Thursday (9/5).

Aside from Mr Basir, other people that have been named as suspects by the KPK in this case are former House Commission VII Deputy Chair Eni Maulani Saragih, former Golkar (Functional Groups) Party and Social Affairs Minister Idrus Marham, Blackgold Natural Resources Ltd shareholder Johannes Budisutrisno Kotjo, and owner of PT Borneo Lumbung Energi and Metal Samin Tan.

Mr Basir allegedly assisted Ms Saragih and other suspects in receiving gratification and promises from Mr Kotjo in relation to the interest in the Riau-1 PLTU Independent Power Producer (IPP) project. (MS)
