Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train is targeted for completion by the end of 2020

BANDUNG - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Rini M. Soemarno, ensured the construction of the Jakarta - Bandung High Speed Train of Tunnel Walini has been running well and reached 60% by the end of 2019 . This project is targeted to be completed by the end of 2020 and become the first high-speed train in Southeast Asia.

This was revealed by Minister Rini when she witnessed the penetration of Tunnel Walini on Tuesday (05/14/2019).

After the work carried out for 15 months, this 608 meter tunnel became the first tunnel of 13 other KCJB tunnels that were successfully penetrated. This achievement was a new milestone after Tunnel Walini in West Java was successfully penetrated.

"By the end of 2019 the progress can reach 60 percent. I will continue to oversee and ensure the project runs well. All this is also inseparable from the support of all parties, both the Regional Government of West Java, stakeholders and the community, "said Rini.

As the first tunnel that was successfully penetrated, Walini Tunnel has a width of 12.6 meters in diameter and an outer diameter of 14.3 meters. This tunnel located in Cikalongwetan Sub-District, West Bandung has a money order in it as well as 2 fast train lines with positions DK95 + 472 on the inlet and DK96 + 080 at the outlet. The outlet side of this tunnel will be directly connected to Walini Station. (LM)
