BTPN has paid the eighth interest of Sumitomo MTN II

JAKARTA. PT Bank BTPN Tbk has paid the eighth interest of Bank Sumitomo Mitsui Indonesia's II Medium Term Notes (MTN) II of Rp 26.85 billion on 14 June 2019.

As quoted from information disclosure released on Monday (17/6/2019), the MTN has principal debt value of Rp 1.3 trillion. The bond interest rate is 8.25% per year.

The MTN issued by PT Bank Sumitomo Mitsui Indonesia in 2017 is rated idAAA or triple-A from PT Pemeringkat Efek Indonesia (Pefindo) on 12 February 2019.

In issuing these securities, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) appointed PT Bank Mega Tbk. as a payment monitoring agent and PT Indo Premier Securities, PT BCA Securities, PT BNI Securities, PT Nikko Securities Indonesia, and PT OCBC Securities Indonesia as the arrangers.

SMBC, the owner of Sumitomo Indonesia, has bought 97.34% of the shares of BTPN. Then, this Japanese company merged BTPN with Bank Sumitomo Mitsui Indonesia.

The corporate action that was completed at the beginning of February 2019 has made bank assets and credit skyrocketed. The bank's total assets grew by 101% on an annual basis (year-on-year / YoY) to Rp192.2 trillion at the end of March 2019, while lending surged by 114% YoY to Rp139.84 trillion. (AM/AR)
