20 June 2019 13:43

JAKARTA - PT MNC Sky Vision Tbk (MSKY) will increase its capital through a private placement scheme. In the corporate action, the company will release as many as 906.53 million shares or 10% of its placed and paid-up capital with a nominal value of Rp 100 per share.

MSKY Director Janis Gunawan said that the company eyes at least Rp 1 trillion from the corporate action. However, he was still unable to reveal when the plan will be executed.

"We don't know yet, but we asked for a two-year period. It could be this year," Mr Gunawan told the press after a public expose at the iNews Tower, Central Jakarta on Wednesday (19/6).

Mr Gunawan added that the private placement aims to strengthen the company's capital structure and serve as a source of capital expenditure (capex). For 2019, MSKY has budgeted capex of Rp 600 billion.

This year, MSKY will focus on acquiring new customers and maintaining existing customers of the MNC Play paid television and Internet services by improving content quality. Currently, MSKY is still the market leader with a 96% market share.

"That's why we're always improving our content in terms of the capacity, amount, quality and channel options, and the definition. We are constantly adding new content from genres popular among our customers, such as South Korea-related and religious content," said MSKY CEO Ade Tjendra.

Loyal customers, Mr Tjendra added, will also receive numerous privileges and attractive promotions such as discounts from MSKY's partners. Thus, as well as acquiring new customers, the company expects to maintain existing customers and its status as a market leader. (MS)
