Shield-On Service to focus on plantation and mining

27 June 2019 06:41

JAKARTA - PT Shield-On Service Tbk (SOSS) or SOS will undertake several strategic measures to achieve its target of 40% revenue growth this year. Among others, the outsourcing company will focus on the plantation and mining sectors.

“One of the reasons why we’re focusing on mining is because it’s a niche market. Not all outsourcing companies are capable of handling the plantation and mining sectors,” said SOS CFO Prasetyo Wibowo at a public expose at the Borobudur Hotel, Central Jakarta on Wednesday (26/6).

“For example, we’re going to operate in Kalimantan and there we will equip our personnel with drones and provide off-road vehicles in palm plantations. Not all outsourcing companies can do all that.”

In addition, Mr Wibowo added, SOS is also capable of providing specially trained personnel for deployment in mining and plantation areas. The said personnel will receive firefighting training and other specialty trainings.

For 2019, SOS targets revenue growth of 40% to Rp 1.1 trillion. As well as focusing on the plantation and mining sectors, the company’s other strategic measures include launching the SOS Think Clean app; expanding to Eastern Indonesia by opening operating offices in Sulawesi and Kalimantan; and expanding the SOS Academy training and skill development facility.
