Indika Energy will increase its production in semester II 2019

JAKARTA. In the period of January-May 2019, PT Indika Energy Tbk (INDY) has produced 14.58 million tonnes of coal, 1.04% from the record from the same period last year, which reached 14.43 million tonnes.

Head of Corporate Communication at INDY, Leonardus Herwindo, explained that as of May 2019, Kideco Jaya Agung had produced 13.98 million tonnes of coal, more or less the same from the record in 2018 of 13.96 million tonnes of coal.

"While MUTU, until May 2019,  has produced 600,000 tonnes of coal, around 22% more than the record from the same period in 2018 of 468,000 tonnes of coal," he said on Tuesday (2/7).

This year INDY aims to increase its production capacity to 34 million tonnes this year, INDY also focuses on operational activities so that it can produce efficiently and effectively. For this reason, the company implements the application of mining technology in some of its projects in the hope of being able to increase the productivity of the company. INDY also improve the synergies between its subsidiaries to further improve the operational activities of Indika Energy Group.

The company also targets that its revenue from non-coal businesses will contribute 25% of the company's total revenue in the next five years. INDY ventured into the Unit II of Cirebon steam power plant (PLTU) through its subsidiary, PT Cirebon Electric Power. Until May 2019, construction work has reached 27%, while its overall progress has reached 45%. (AM)
