JAKARTA. Despite the fact that the growth of bank credit is slowing down, the credit disbursement from PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk is estimated to still meet its target of 12-14%

"Until the beginning of the second quarter of 2019, BRI's loan growth was still on the track with a target supported by all credit segments, both working capital and investment," said Corporate Secretary of Bank BRI Bambang Tribaroto as quoted by Bisnis on Wednesday (03/07/2019).

He acknowledged that in the industry, lending in several segments experienced a slowdown, especially working capital loans. This is not only caused by external factors such as a decline in some commodity prices, but also due to the stagnation of loan demand from business players.

"Sectors that declining include plantation sector and transportation sector," Bambang said.

Even so, the BBRI-coded company is still optimistic that it can achieve its double-digit credit growth target. Especially for working capital and investment loans, it is estimated to grow by 12% - 14% by the end of semester I / 2019. (AM/AR)
