SMGR & SMCB continues to strengthen its integration and synergy

JAKARTA. The national cement market is expected to improve in the second semester of 2019 due to the arrival of the dry season, which has prompted property companies to begin production activities, and political situation that is more stable. However, PT Semen Indonesia Tbk (SMGR) together with its subsidiary, PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk (SMCB) are utilizing the current conditions to continue integration and synergy after the acquisition of SMCB.

Agung Wiharto, Director of PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk (SMCB), explained that historically,  the demand in the second semester was better than in the first semester. This was due to the dry season, as well as the large number of property projects.

"We also see that the political conditions are improving, and we are also confident that integration with Semen Indonesia will be smoother," Agung said as quoted by Kontan.co.id, Sunday (7/7).

Agung explained that until the end of the year, his party would focus on internal reform and integration with its new parent company, while working on infrastructure projects and also working on new clients.

In the synergy step, for example in terms of procurement. SMCB and SMGR jointly began buying coal for production purposes.

Meanwhile, GM of Corporate Communication at PT Semen Indonesia Tbk (SMGR) Sigit Wahono explained that several synergy and integration programs initiated in the first semester of 2019 had now begun to run. "So in semester II-2019 we are ready to meet consumer demands for the supply of products and services," Sigit said as quoted by Kontan.co.id Sunday (7/7). (AM/AR)
