Garuda Indonesia increases flight frequency of Jakarta-Samarinda route

JAKARTA - National airline Garuda Indonesia starting on Saturday (6/7) increased the frequency of flights from Jakarta - Samarinda from 7 times per week to 14 times per week. The addition of flight frequency was carried out as one of Garuda Indonesia's efforts to improve services for all service users by offering a more varied choice of flight schedules, as well as in order to meet the high demand of the community for the route.

The additional flights are served via GA 582 flight which departs from Soekarno Hatta International Airport at 09.10 WIB every day and will arrive at APT Pranoto airport, Samarinda at 12:30 WITA. While flight from APT Pranoto Airport, Samarinda (GA 583) departs at 2:00 p.m. and arrives at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at 3:40 p.m. WIB. The flight will be flown using the Bombardier CRJ 1000 aircraft with a capacity of 96 passengers.

Garuda Indonesia Vice President Corporate Secretary M. Iksan Rosan revealed that the addition of frequency was one of Garuda Indonesia's efforts to optimize the potential market in Samarinda, specifically to support the mobilization of service users in the two cities.

"The addition of the frequency of the Jakarta - Samarinda flight route is also in line with our ongoing commitment to support the government's efforts to increase the potential of the investment climate in the tourism and industrial sectors in Samarinda," Ikhsan added.

Garuda Indonesia is very optimistic that the addition of this flight frequency can increase passenger traffic to Samarinda and be able to make Samarinda not only as a destination for business travelers but also can be developed as a new tourist destination that is able to compete both domestically and internationally.
