JAKARTA. PT Waskita Karya Tbk (WSKT) improves the competence of its Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) internal auditors with ISO 45001: 2018 certification.

Fery Hendriyanto, Operations Director of WSKT, said the agenda was carried out as the final step towards the integration of ISO 45001: 2018, 9001: 2015 and 14001: 2015 management system by SGS in the third quarter of this year. "These QHSE internal auditor candidates are expected to be able to conduct routine self-assessments in controlling superior QHSE performance with zero accident," Fery explained to idnfinancials.com on Thursday (11/7) today in writing.

For information, WSKT is currently following the OHSAS 18001 standard for OHS (occupational health and safety) management. This standard will be updated to ISO 45001: 2018 standard. "The certification is the first international standard of SMK3 in the world that sets high-level structural requirements based on ISO GUIDE 83 (SL annex)," said Fery.

Through the improvement in the certificate, Fery is optimistic that WSKT can present a work environment that is more concerned with the safety aspects of its workers. He also considered this step would provide guarantees for the subcontractors and providers of projects that the company worked on. (KR/AR)
