JAKARTA. President Director of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Inarno Djajadi, asked the public to be more careful in choosing the peer-to-peer (P2P) lending platform, due to the high risk.

Djajadi explained that the P2P business in Indonesia has grown very rapidly in the past two years. In 2017, said Djajadi, the funds on the P2P Lending platform were only around Rp 2.6 trillion. But in 2018, P2P funds increased by Rp. 22.7 trillion, "said Djajadi on Tuesday (16/7) today.

In addition, Djajadi added that the risk of defaults at P2P Lending is quite high. P2P Lending companies also have lots of debt collector for billing.

Djajadi also added that people need to choose P2P Lending that is registered and supervised by the Financial Services Authority (OJK). "Consumers need to choose P2P which is legal," said Djajadi. (KR/AR)
