Air Asia opens two new routes to Sorong and Semarang

JAKARTA - Leading low-cost carrier, AirAsia announced on Saturday (20/7) the development of domestic connectivity from its biggest hub in Indonesia, Jakarta, by launching two new direct flight routes from Jakarta to Sorong and Semarang, and increasing the frequency of flights from Jakarta to Lombok.

New flight routes of Jakarta - Sorong and Jakarta - Semarang will operate from 1 September 2019. While Jakarta - Lombok flights starting on 1 August 2019 will be increased in frequency from 11x a week to 14x a week starting on September 1, 2019. The three routes will be served by AirAsia Indonesia (QZ flight code) using an Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of 180 seats.

Flight tickets for these three new routes are offered starting from Rp 2,700,000 * for Jakarta - Sorong, Rp 634,000 * for Jakarta - Lombok, and Rp 341,000 * for Jakarta - Semarang through the airasia.com website and AirAsia applications. The price of this offer is available from July 20 until 28 July 2019, for travel periods starting 1 September 2019 to 26 October 2019.

Director of AirAsia Indonesia, Dendy Kurniawan said, "In addition to developing international connectivity to support the achievement of the target of foreign tourist arrivals to the country, according to our promises, this year AirAsia focused on expanding its domestic route network, specifically connecting Jakarta with eastern Indonesia. Our commitment to continue to offer affordable and quality flights we realize with ticket prices from Jakarta to Sorong that can be ordered starting from Rp 2,700,000 and also to Semarang starting from Rp 341,000. Our domestic flight tickets also include a 15 kg free baggage. Hopefully, our services will get a place in the hearts of the people, so that we can contribute even more in encouraging the economy, especially in tourist areas."

AirAsia Indonesia currently operates 292 flights per week from Jakarta to various international and domestic destinations, such as Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Bangkok, Surabaya, Yogyakarta and Bali. (LM)
