OJK continues to monitor banking information technology

JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) continues to monitor mitigation efforts carried out by PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI) in overcoming the bank's information technology problems. Banking must have and implement good operational standards, if system disruption occurs, by prioritizing aspects of consumer protection related to customer rights including the restoration of its services.

OJK asks Bank Mandiri to immediately report the problems that occur and the steps they will take so that similar incidents do not recur in the future. At present, the most important thing is that the service has returned to normal and Bank Mandiri has also guaranteed the security of customer funds.

The problems that have occurred are important to the attention of the banking industry. OJK asks all banks to continue to review the IT functions that are held regularly in order to enforce careful operational risk management governance and run well. This is a form of effort to improve banking services in the future and prevent this problem from recurring. (LM)
