JAKARTA - Chatbot platform Halosis has bagged US$ 1.2 million in seed funding from a number of angel investors and is planning to launch a Series A funding round in late 2019 or early 2020, Slator.com reported.

Halosis offers virtual assistance services to 3,000 Indonesian SMEs and online sellers. It is supported by the Indonesia Stock Exchange’s (IDX) incubator arm IDX Incubator, as well as accelerator Digitaraya-Google Launchpad.

The startup has a chatbot named Hana, which processes orders and other management tasks in both Indonesian and English. A messaging app and an e-wallet system are also available to accommodate orders and transactions.

According to Halosis CEO and co-founder Andrew Darmadi, out of Indonesia’s 60 million SMEs only 5% use digital technologies. Thus, there is a great potential in enabling the SME sector to go digital. (MS)
