OCBC NISP scores Rp 1.5 trillion net profit in first half

JAKARTA - Bank OCBC NISP Tbk (NISP) managed show good performance amid dynamic and challenging economic conditions, among others, marked by the growth of net profit by 15%, to Rp 1.5 trillion in the First Semester of 2019 from Rp 1.3 trillion in the First Semester of 2018 .

Bank OCBC NISP is optimistic that good performance achieved in the first half of 2019 will be maintained in the second semester of 2019. In this first semester of 2019, the Bank recorded a growth of Third Party Funds (DPK) by 8%, dominated by CASA whose composition reaches 37.6% of the total funds collected. The Bank's potential to channel credit can still be developed, marked by the Loan to Deposit (LDR) which reached 91.1% at the end of the first semester of 2019.

In terms of credit, it grew by 2% YoY to Rp 119 Trillion at the end of Semester I 2019, which was distributed to working capital, investment and consumer loans. This growth is accompanied by the Bank's ability to maintain credit quality consistently with the ratio of non-performing loans (NPL) below the provisions, namely gross NPL of 1.8% and net NPL of 0.8%.

"Amid dynamic and challenging economic conditions, Bank OCBC NISP continues to record growth in Third Party Funds throughout the first semester of 2019, which is 8% YoY. This is the result of, among other things, our initiative to expand the reach of our savings products, namely Tanda 360o plus and Taka. We are optimistic that Bank OCBC NISP can continue to grow healthily and sustainably by being guided by the prudent principle in presenting various innovative banking products and services, " said Parwati Surjaudaja, President Director of Bank OCBC NISP.

To achieve healthy and sustainable growth, Bank OCBC NISP has prepared a variety of strategies including strengthening business models, accelerating retail growth, specifically targeting the younger generation segments, supporting sustainable financial initiatives and continuing transformation by optimizing digital initiatives and presenting a better customer experience.
