JAKARTA - Content streaming service provider Netflix said that it currently has no plan to open an office in Indonesia. The US company added that there are considerations to make before deciding on opening a new office.

According to Netflix Southeast Asia Head of Corporate Communications Leigh Wong, Netflix currently has 151 million subscribers from all over the world, with Indonesia being one of the markets that contribute significantly to Netflix’s number of customers.

“We are very interested in the Indonesian market due to its size and the amount of opportunities, so we seek to grow here,” Ms Wong told Kontan.co.id, Thursday (1/8).

Netflix, Ms Wong added, has been investing to provide high-quality content, both films and TV shows, from Indonesia. Nevertheless, the company still has to consider several factors related to business opportunities before deciding to open an office in Indonesia. (MS)
