KPK looks into involvement of INTI BOD in AP II Finance Director bribery case

06 August 2019 07:11

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has ensured it will investigate the possible involvement of a member of PT Industri Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Persero) or INTI’s board of directors (BOD) in a bribery case that has incriminated PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II Finance Director Andra Agussalam.

A member of INTI’s BOD allegedly hired Taswin Nur, who has also been named a suspect in the case, as a staff member and right-hand man. Mr Agussalam is suspected to have received a SG$ 96,700 bribe from Mr Nur in relation to a baggage handling system (BHS) provision project to AP II’s subsidiary PT Angkasa Pura Propertindo (APP), implemented by INTI this year.

“We have found facts that indicate the project, or the transaction’s underline, was related to the work done by PT INTI alongside PT APP, with connections to PT AP II,” said KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah at the KPK Building, South Jakarta as quoted by Antara News, Monday (5/8).

Mr Diansyah added that the KPK will investigate the extent of the involvement of INTI’s higher-ups in the case, as well as whether Mr Nur carried out the bribery on his own initiative or on the order of a high-ranking official in the company.

Meanwhile, INTI has denied that Mr Nur was/is a company staff member in an official statement. However, Mr Diansyah affirmed that the staff member in the context does not always mean a formal employee, but could also refer to a staff member working personally for the company’s officials. (MS)
