14 August 2019 09:05

JAKARTA. PT SMR Utama Tbk (SMRU) obtained a new contract from PT Berau Coal in East Kalimantan, for mining services and heavy equipment rental.

Ricky Kosasih, Secretary of the SMRU, said the contract includes overburden stripping of around 100 million bank cubic meters (BCM), which run until March 2025. "This contract is in operation starting in semester 2 of 2019," Kosasih said as quoted by Kontan yesterday (13/8).

But Kosasih was reluctant to mention the value of the contract. "The value is confidential. For contracts with Berau Coal, coal price is the determining factor for the tariffs, "Kosasih explained.

At present SMRU also has a 5-year contract for overburden stripping of 81 million bank cubic meters and 5 million tons of coal. This contract began last year. Most of SMRU contracts came from PT Gunung Batu Bara, with a percentage of 90%. (KR/AR)
