JAKARTA. PT Medco Energy Tbk (MEDC) claimed that it can save up to US$ 30 million per year, after acquiring Ophir Energy Plc. last May.

Ronald Gunawan, Chief Operating Officer of MEDC, said that the company is currently integrating the company's finance, supply chain, assets and work plan with Ophir Energy. Through this integration, said Gunawan, the company will develop a number of assets in Africa, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

MEDC is targeting to produce 110 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (BOEPD) of oil and gas. "With Ophir's proforma production of 110 thousand BOEPD," explained Gunawan.

During the first semester of this year, MEDC recorded an EBITDA of US$ 343 million, higher than the record from the same period last year of US$ 300 million. The company's net profit decreased to US$ 28 million in the first half of this year, from US$ 41 million recorded in the same period last year. (KR/AR)
