Hero will invest Rp 500 billion to innovate

26 August 2019 08:27

JAKARTA. PT Hero Supermarket Tbk (HERO) or Hero Group will invest Rp 500 billion after closing several of its Giant outlets not too long ago.

Director of Hero Supermarket, Hadrianus Wahyu Trikusumo, said that Hero would invest Rp 500 billion to create better outlets with more relevant retail business space. That, he said, included also increasing the number of products offered in each line of business and service standards improvement.

"Hero is strongly committed to remain a strong competitive retailer in every business unit we have," Hadrianus said in his statement on Sunday (25/8/2019).

He said people's demand and spending patterns had changed. Therefore, the company will innovate.

The 48-year-old Hero Group must carry out transformation to improve its long-term performance, Hadrianus said. Thus, various updates and revitalization are carried out in order to face the challenges of changing customer spending trends.

Previously, Hero closed 6 Giant outlets due to increasingly fierce competition. (AM/AR)
