JAKARTA. PT Bank BTPN Tbk (BTPN) aims to become a Commercial Banks Group of Business Activities (BUKU) IV bank in 2023, with no additional capital (organically).

President Director of BTPN, Ongki Wanadjati Dana, said that at present, the position of BTPN's core capital is in the range of Rp 22 trillion-Rp 23 trillion. It means that the bank needs another Rp 7 trillion to become a BUKU 4 bank. "With our own capabilities, without capital injection, in the next four years we can reach BUKU 4 category," Ongki said on the Indonesia Stock Exchange on Monday (26/8).

According to the company's financial report, the company's individual core capital (bank only) was recorded at Rp 23.34 trillion. It is 76.23% higher than the record in June 2018 of Rp 13.24 trillion. This rapid growth in core capital was the result of the company's merger with SMBC.

The merger also catapulted lending and the collection of deposits, each rising by 112% (YoY) to Rp 143.35 trillion and 36% (YoY) to Rp 97.70 trillion in semester I-2019 respectively. Finally, the bank's net profit grew by 13% to Rp 1.23 trillion. (AM/AR)
