JAKARTA - PT Citra Putra Realty Tbk (CLAY) is planning to build a hospital in Pontianak, West Kalimantan. The plan has been approved at the company’s’ EGM on Monday (9/9).

The hospital will be built on 8,500-m2 land purchased using the company’s IPO proceeds of Rp 68 billion. Initially the land was to be used for a hotel.

With a capacity of 285 rooms, the hospital is targeted for full operations by 2021 and costs a Rp 633 billion investment. CLAY President Director Yudha Bhakti Kresnianto explained that the hospital will be built on Pontianak’s main street for easier access.

“We are building the hospital on the main street, and we hope it will be West Kalimantan’s best hospital,” said Mr Kresnianto after the company’s EGM at the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) as quoted by Kontan.co.id.

In addition, said Mr Kresnianto, the hospital is expected to compete with hospitals in Kuching, Malaysia which serve a large number of patients from West Kalimantan.

“We hope patients who usually go to Kuching can stay in Kalimantan and seek treatment at our hospital,” Mr Kresnianto concluded. (MS)
