JAKARTA. The government and the Budget Agency (Banggar) of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) agreed to increase the budget for the central government by Rp 14 trillion.

The Director-General of Budget, Askolani said that central government's for 2020 is expected to increase to Rp 1,683.47 trillion. This is around Rp 14 trillion higher than the state budget draft (RAPBN) of Rp 1,669.98 trillion.

"This adjustment is based on the discussion between the government's working committee and members of the DPR in Working Committee A," Askolani said in the meeting room of the Banggar, Jakarta on Tuesday (10/09/2019).

Askolani explained that the adjustment in the budget was due to the budget adjustments in Ministry/Institution (K/L) expenditure in the 2020 State Budget Draft. Previously, K/L expenditure was set at Rp 884.55 trillion, then it was changed to Rp 909.62 trillion.

Not only that, but non-K/L expenditure also changed and lowered by Rp 11.578 trillion, from Rp. 785.43 trillion in the 2020 State Budget Draft to Rp. 773.85 trillion. (AM/AR)
