Ministry of PUPR offers 94 projects to private companies through KPBU scheme

JAKARTA. The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) will offer 94 infrastructure projects to the private sector through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme for the period of 2020-2024.

Director-General of Infrastructure Financing, Eko D. Heripoerwanto, conveyed that the 94 projects will cost an investment of up to Rp 759.4 trillion.

"There will be 94 projects that will be done through the PPP scheme," he said during a hearing with the Commission VI of the House of Representatives at the Fairmont Hotel, Senayan, Central Jakarta on Thursday (12/9). Types of projects that use PPP schemes including roads and bridges, water resources, and housing infrastructure.

Based on the explanation, in detail, PPP infrastructure projects are divided into fourteen water resources projects with an investment of Rp 54.3 trillion,  48 road and bridge projects (Rp 621.6 trillion), 55,000 subsidized housing units (Rp 33 trillion), and 32 settlement area projects (Rp 50.5 trillion).

The government needs a large budget to build infrastructure projects in the next 5 years. Funds needed for infrastructure development in 2020 - 2024 reaches Rp 2,058 trillion. Meanwhile, State Budget (APBN) can only accommodate 30% of it or around Rp 623 trillion. (AM/AR)
